Kimono’s R Sexy

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Kindof ;)
I dig those full length Kimono’s with a slit that goes all the way up the skirt :)
I was at a Chinese restaraunt in Perth a while back, and the waitresses were wearing them…they were friendly too, which was a nice touch!

I Googled a bit to find a picture for this post, but came up blank. Unbelievable. Multiple-billion pages, and no valid results…Almost as if someone wants me to get away from the computer!
All I could find is a news post talking about a manufacturer in Japan that makes them in that style.

More…template changes ;)

Hey at least now the site looks (sort of) pretty! Really, it’s better than the old site. I should have screen shot’d them for laughs :)

The tabs for the top menu are still annoying though…Firefox has a habit of rendering the Blog tab above the menu bar, then fixing it when you resize the window weeeiirrd. I’ll fix it…soon. I want to put the rest of the site online, but I want a template that works before I do that!

I’m getting tired of posting about CSS too. I’m not even at work at the moment, so I can’t even use that excuse…yes folks, you CAN really pass time by blogging ;)

Anyway off to get some shut eye, then (probably not) go to uni in the morning ;)

Forgot About Sidebar!

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

Oops another oversight, I forgot to put the Blogger sidebar back in!

Actually, when I did that, the whole template broke heh. Bad CSS again, well, malformed liquid layout anyway.

I changed some things, and it now works…in Firefox at least. The issue was that the tabs along the top on the right were in main div in the body, which was causing issues somehow for the main right hand column.

I integrated the top tabs into the right hand column, so the right hand column really is just a container now. And I put the Blogger sidebar back :)

Of course, now the text on the site looks smashingly ugly, but it’s all

Template Fix

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Ok so I admit it. I broke it. It was me. Actually it was a (major) oversight in the CSS.

What am I talking about? The template I’m using for my site, that I inserted into Blogger. It turns out the first thing that was wrong was that Blogger was automatically inserting it’s own stylesheet link _after_ mine in the HTML, so the Blogger variables for body{} were taking precedence!

I remove the bar (was going to do that anyway) so the site integrates a bit better. I also had to fix the style of the container for the post, which was not expanding with the post…turns out I had some crazy IE fix in there from when I was testing the style sheet when I made the template last week hah! Anyway it’s fixed now.

Oh and I put the images directory where it is supposed to be, so you don’t see the alt tags on the header anymore. Of course I’ll change the images, but it’s better than nothing for the time being!

1st Post!

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Ok so I’m creating _another_ blog on blogger.com…but this is different, really!
I’m going to merge all the other blogs into this one (somehow, haven’t figured out how yet), but more imporantly, I’m going to template this myself and integrate it with my actual site. We’ll see how we go, but client sites have to come first since they pay…oh well :)
I am going to try and keep this one more up to date though. About 3 months ago (at the start of the last uni holidays), I adventured out on distributing all my services among dedicated boxes. I went a little too crazy with too many layers, so now I’m reintergrating a lot of it. This should make things easier, so hopefully this will make a difference to the time I spend blogging!
