Ok, DLink did fix the firmware on my 504G and sent it back to me. They even had the latest firmware on it, but it still wouldn’t allow me to get the SNMP off it, (though it said it was ok on the box), and it still failed to forward mail to my mail server from Hotmail server (SMTP command timeout), but every other server was ok (that I tested). I flashed back to B9 firmware, with the same problems. I then attempted to flash up to B18 firmware again, and corrupted the firmware on the modem.

Needless to say, I will be going to buy another brand of modem soon. The Netcomm NB5 I have is nice, but fails under connection load from P2P. I know the SMC’s are pretty good (i.e. have not heard of any problems and they are flexible), so I will probably buy one of those…
